Jack Howell

Jack made his Major League Baseball debut 5/20/1985 with the California Angels. From 1987-1989, he averaged 20 home runs per season before being traded to the San Diego Padres. Howell then played Nippon Professional Baseball for 4 years and was the first gaijin in his first season to win Most Valuable Player in 1992. He led the league in home runs and batting average. He returned to MLB and the Angels from 1996-1997,  and Astros from 1998-1999. Jack played his final game for the Houston Astros on 7/17/1999. A 17 year career from 1983-1999, Jack was 37 yrs old when his playing career ended.
